I can't say if the host was responsive or not because check in instructions were clear and easy, then we didn't need anything on arrival because everything worked like it should. Every communication pre and post trip was immediately answered so I'm sure any issues would have been quickly addressed, but we had zero. Would 100% stay again!”

“We stayed at Hoo’s There Hideaway for 4 days and had an amazing experience. The cabin was peaceful, calm, and surrounded by nature—exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. It’s tucked away just enough to give you that quiet, private feel, but still close to everything Helen has to offer. The place was clean, cozy, and well-stocked, and we loved having a kitchen to cook our meals. We would absolutely stay here again!”

“Cabin was very well maintained with updated kitchen & clean comfortable large living room sofa. The cabin was clean and had all the amenities we needed. We felt very comfortable and safe in this cabin. The master bedroom bed is king size and comfortable and has a nice very large jacuzzi/jet tub in the back corner. The master bathroom is small (especially shower), but is ample. Upstairs there is one bedroom with 2 queen beds, a full bath, and a small open area with a pool table. (but area too small for pool game) Hot tub located just outside the back door on the porch was well maintained &clean. The grounds around the cabin are well maintained, with clean, level areas of grass, 2 outside swings, and a patio area for the grills. A nice gravel walkway leads to the front porch. Ample parking for 2 vehicles. This cabin is located far off the main highway and is accessible only by a very narrow one lane dirt/gravel road. Nice cabin. Would definitely recommend this cabin.”

“Perfect place for our quick trip to Helen. Would recommend getting there for the first time before it gets dark, because the roads are gravel and can be difficult to follow in the dark. It is close enough to Helen while getting to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Great indoor and outdoor space.”

“Beyond peaceful and private. The back deck and hot tub opened up to your own section of forest. The fireplace inside was amazing to sit by at night. The master bedroom bed has a pillow top and was nice and comfortable. As far as going into Helen, it was about a 10 minute drive. If you need groceries for your stay , Betty's Country Store is very well stocked and has everything you could need. Oh... and I was so grateful I ordered the three bundles of wood Blue Creek Cabins offered. It was there on our porch when we arrived:)”

“This cabin was very clean & beautifully decorated. With great views all around the cabin, I enjoyed sitting in a rocking chair reading a book on the front porch & drinking my morning coffee on the back deck. There were plenty of outdoor chairs, furniture, & swings. The rock formation in the back is unique, a great background for pictures. My husband enjoyed cooking food for most of our meals on the charcoal grill. We cooked hot dogs, sausages, & s'mores at the fire pit, & the delivery of firewood was an appreciated convenience. We loved using the hot tub at night on the back deck, with the porch lights & the sound of the crickets. The jetted bathtub was wonderful & relaxing. I really appreciated all of the hooks on the walls where we could hang clothes & towels. The refrigerator was very clean, & we loved the ice & water in the door. With a few exceptions, the kitchen was well-stocked with basic dishes & necessities. The televisions were big, & we had access to plenty of programming. There was plenty of drawer & cupboard space for our use throughout the cabin. With all curtains or shades pulled, the master bedroom was nice & dark, even in the daytime. There were plenty of lights, lamps, & ceiling fans throughout the cabin. We liked the 11 AM checkout rather than the typical 10 AM. We didn't use the upstairs space or the washer/dryer at all. There were extra pillows, but no extra sheets or blankets. In the kitchen, there were only 2 dishcloths & 1 dishrag. We were disappointed that there was no salt, pepper, or basic spices available. There were very few forks. We didn't understand the dishwasher at all. It seemed to run for an extended period of time &, at the end of the cycle, the dishes were not dry or hot. Some more information about trout streams in the area that are open to the public would have been appreciated. I was a little disappointed that the fireplace can only be used during certain months of the year, not while we were there. Some type of curtain or shade on the windows in the kitchen would be nice. The showers are too small & crowded for a couple to shower together, but the jetted bath tub is a more than adequate alternative. We have seen bear-proof trash bins that require less touching of dirty surfaces than this one did. On the day of our departure, as we were doing final things just minutes before leaving, there was a knock at the door. It was a man from an extermination company, saying he was there to do a routine termite inspection/treatment of the property. He stayed outside, looking around, & we left not long after his arrival. For safety reasons, we were surprised that we were not given a "heads-up" about his arrival, but maybe he showed up a little earlier than scheduled. My husband & I enjoyed our stay at this cabin for our 37th Wedding Anniversary! We will definitely rent from Blue Creek Cabin Rentals again. We loved Hoo's There Hideaway, but, because we like variety & trying new things, we will probably rent a different cabin next time.”

“My family & I absolutely loved this secluded location!! It was the perfect space for my husband & I, along with our 3 kids (ages 11, 6, & 3). The yard was perfect for the kids to play while we grilled food outside & the jacuzzi was everyone’s favorite!! We arrived a little after sunset, so the travel up York Cemetery Rd was a little scary but once it was daylight, the travel was a lot easier!! We really enjoyed the back patio & were able to spot a family of deer during our morning coffee!! This location was perfect distance to downtown & city attractions!! We would definitely visit again & recommend this location!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“We had a wonderful kickoff to our Christmas holiday at this cabin. It came with all the kitchen appliances we needed for our stay. All we did was bring the food. We had a pool table upstairs that entertained us, a hot tub on the back porch that was therapeutic for our arthritis, and all the rooms had smart TVs so we could cast, air drop, and stream as we pleased. We brought our firewood and logs for the fireplace. The atmosphere was radiant. I highly recommend this cozy spot for a nice, relaxing vacation. We will book again in the future.”

The location is great also, only 5 min to Unicoi State Park and 15 min to Helen, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cant wait to go back, my boys want a pool table now, lol.”

“Our young family really enjoyed our stay at Hoo's There Hideaway. The house was very clean and spacious. The kids loved the hot tub and pool table and enjoyed their room together. The house is located about half a mile down a gravel road, so the area around the cabin was very quiet. We saw tons of birds, including several turkeys! The cabin is only 10 minutes from Helen and very close to Unicoi, so it was easy for us to go into town for meals or drive to the trails. Would definitely stay here in the future!”

The cabin is a quick 10 minute drive to Helen. The road is not paved and very narrow, but this would not deter is from staying here again. We would definitely revisit!”

This is a very private cabin about 5 miles outside of Helen off of a flat gravel road. Had no problem with that in my car. In fact, saw many forest animals driving that road. Overall, had a nice relaxing time in a lovely cabin and would rent again in the future!!”

The staff are great...We had a broken corkscrew on day one and within a half hour, a new one was hand delivered to us. I cannot wait to return to this cabin again soon!”

“We had a wonderful 4 night stay. The cabin was exactly as shown in the pictures. It was clean, and in a quiet location. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. The hot tub was perfect after a day of hiking. This is a great location to check out all NE Georgia has to offer. Less than 10 minutes from the town of Helen if you prefer to eat out. We were sad to leave! I highly recommend this cabin.”

“The property is beautifully quiet. A few homes nearby but feels isolated, just like a cabin should. The light over our kitchen sink was put, and the property managers promptly replaced it. This was a list, because the cabin is very dimly lit, further burdened by the dark cabin walls. A few table lamps in the living room would make a huge difference. If you are planning to actually use the pool table, be warned. Even with short sticks, the room is not large enough and it hinders your play greatly. My kids made do but we’re frustrated. That was one of our criteria for booking this cabin so it was quite disappointing. However, the hot tub made up for it. While only really sitting three adults comfortably, we made do with our foursome. Be aware, the upstairs room is open up top. My kids could here everything down below, even with the door shut. The power went out due to a winter storm the day before we were supposed to leave, so we had to pack up in the dark and takeoff a day early, but the property managers were awesome and that they agreed to log out of all of our TV accounts when the power came back on. With a few changes and a price reduction as the pool table is not truly usable, we would consider returning.”

“Driving up on Friday night at dusk and seeing this beautiful cabin took our breath away! It’s even more magical in person. Cabin is beautiful inside and out. The drive up to the cabin was fine and much smoother than some of the reviews. We are in a 4Runner and just drove slowly on the one lane gravel drive. Enjoyed the huge TVs and streaming services. The furniture is all cozy and comfy. We had so much fun playing pool, we may have spent most of our time inside, up in the loft! Loved the blankets to wrap up and watch shows/movies. The lighting all around the home is so awesome!! The hot tub was great! Used it several times even in the heat of summer. It was nice to relax after a fun afternoon in Helen. Which is a short drive (maybe 10-12 minutes). There are 3 board games to play! We had brought our own but such a nice addition to the cabin. Kitchen is beautiful and stocked with dishes and utensils. Fridge is huge, lots of room for drinks and food. The decor is FANTASTIC. Lots of towels for showers and hot tub. The dryer was great to have after a dip in the hot tub so our swimsuits were dry for our next soak. Just an FYI- streaming could be spotty. Sometimes it worked really well, other times it would get stuck every 10 or so minutes. But even with that, I’d stay here again. And again. And again. Upstairs was super warm when we arrived. The fans helped circulate air but an additional fan might be nice to bring if you have the room AND are like us… we like a cool 68-70 degree inside temp. Looking forward to hearing back and booking this cabin again (it looks like the big holidays are already taken!!!). It really was the perfect place for a quiet birthday weekend. “Clean property inside and out. The roads leading to the cabin can be rough on low sitting vehicles. We rented a family van and only scrapped the bottom a few times. Heads up for drivers. The view and coziness of the cabin was worth the ride. My family loved being close to Helen’s Bavarian town.”

“We had a great time and found everything at our cabin in order. The hot tub and pool table were a hit of course. Our manager was super kind especially when the storm caused a power outage. I would recommend a flashlight for cabin. Luckily had one in my car. My granddaughter left her Bible and devotional near the TV, so I called, but still haven’t heard back. That was disappointing. Lively cabin.”

“We needed a place to get away for Christmas for our family of four. We wanted a place that was cozy, but had thing to keep us entertained. This place was perfect. It was well designed, cutely and lovingly decorated and well appointed. Plus, we were pleasantly surprised to find a Christmas tree in the cabin! The smoker was great and we loved the meals cooked on it. We all had a wonderful time and said it was one of our most wonderful holiday memories, which is nice considering we are in a pandemic. The roads are windy and narrow to get to the cabin, but aside from that it was perfect.”

“My family and I stayed here Memorial Day weekend and we had the absolute best time! The cabin is beautiful along with the landscaping around! So clean, so well kept, adorably decorated, cozy and charming. We enjoyed the hot tub every night, made s’mores in the fire pit and played pool. There is an adorable little store called the lavender cottage just minutes away that offers all kind of spa items. I enjoyed using them in the over sized jetted tub at the cabin. Much needed relaxation! We visited Unicoi state park, shopped the stores in Helen, spent the day at Tallulah Gorge and drove over to Clayton to eat at The Rusty Bike Cafe, which had exceptional food!! The view from the back porch is breath taking with lush landscaping and a Mountain View. We had such a wonderful time and made some great family memories. I cannot wait to come back and stay her again. Definitely one of my favorite rentals! Thank you for you hospitality!”
